Women’s Health Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology covers many areas, including the following:

Our health professionals have completed extra training in Women’s Health.

Here are some reasons to visit a Women’s Health Physio or Exercise Physiologist:
  • Unexplained pain/discomfort in the lower back, hips or pelvis
  • Bladder leaks and or urgent or frequent need to urinate
  • Feeling like your bladder or bowel emptying is not complete
  • Pre-natal advice: regarding trimester specific exercise advice, techniques for active labouring, returning to sport and exercise after baby,
  • Pain during sex
  • Post-natal advice: regarding abdominal exercises, pelvic floor, appropriate type and load of exercise, addressing diastasis recti, home or gym program set up.
  • Pregnancy-related pelvic, back or coccyx pain (“pelvic girdle pain” or “coccydynia”).
  • Pelvic pain, pressure, bulging, heaviness or dragging in the saddle region, or if a doctor has said that you have a prolapse.
  • Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, and other medical pelvic conditions.
  • Gestational diabetes
  • Hypertension and pre-eclampsia
  • Bone density concerns related to menopause
  • Referrals to other programs to assist with areas such as mental health, breastfeeding, nutritional health or community programs.

Pre and Post Natal

Every Mum needs support during pregnancy for their baby’s health and their own.  At My Local Physio Plus, we love being a part of this journey.

Our 'Bump to Baby' program encompasses all of our services for pregnancy and post-natal women, including our group reformer classes. 

And because our health professionals have completed extra training in women's health, we can help you from pre-conception right through to post-natal recovery.

Our team will work alongside your GP, midwife or OBGYN to help ensure you are taking care of your body in the best way possible during this special stage in your life.

Our team specialise in making sure you are exercising safely for the benefit of you and your baby and provide advice on the following:

  • Supervised Individual Exercise Session (Clinic based, Gym Based, Pilates - your session is tailored to your needs - babies welcome!)

  • How to safely exercise your abdominals

The Bump to Baby program includes working with Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Acupuncturists and Remedial Massage Therapists.
